Unlock & Jailbreak Walkthrough

You’ll need to jailbreak your iPhone to start using all the best jailbreak apps on this site. Jailbreaking allows you to install 3rd party apps not approved by Apple. These jailbreak apps give your iPhone new and exciting functionality. Jailbreaking is fool-proof, easier, and faster then ever before. Follow this jailbreak walkthrough and unlock your iPhone in seconds.

This jailbreak walkthrough uses the blackra1n jailbreak which supports any iPod Touch or iPhone. Blackra1n is the easiest, fastest, and most reliable program to jailbreak with. You can always undo the jailbreak by restoring in iTunes. Do not update to newer firmwares until a confirmed jailbreak is released for it, you will lose your jailbreak and unlock.

Warning: If you’ve recently purchased your iPhone 3GS it will only support a tethered jailbreak. Which means if your iPhone powers off or reboots you will need to repeat the blackra1n iPhone jailbreak. Your data WILL remain intact, the device will just not boot. If you purchased your iPhone 3GS before Oct 2009 you should not run into this problem. If not, sorry there are no solutions for you at this time. Be patient, you can still jailbreak and unlock your iPhone with this minor set back. All iPod Touch 3rd Gen devices only support tethered jailbreaks.

DO NOT UPDATE TO 3.1.3 FIRMWARE
If you already did hang tight, I’ll have a how to jailbreak 3.1.3 guide shortly,

1. Make sure your iPhone is running Version 3.1.2. [settings > General > About]



2. Download the blackra1n iPhone Jailbreak



3. Open the blackra1n.exe file



4. Make sure your iPhone is connected to the computer then click make it ra1n



5. The make is ra1n button will now read “entering recovery…”



6. Your iPhone will soon be displaying an image of GeoHot
7. The button will read “done, wait for reboot” and your iPhone should be in the process of rebooting



8. Once started make sure you have an active internet connection on your iPhone
9. There will be a new app on your homescreen, blackra1n, tap it



10. Tap Cydia, this will install the Cydia app by Saurik. This app is the sole reason to Jailbreak your iPhone. Cydia is basically the Appstore for all your Jailbreak App needs.



11. And you’re done, your iPhone is now jailbroken. You can also choose to blacksn0w, the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS unlock. I don’t recommend installing Rock, it’s crap. Either way you can always install these later through Cydia.
